Dr. Matthew H. Kanzler is a board-certified dermatologist with decades of experience in general dermatology. Over the course of his career, he has treated a wide range of dermatologic conditions while also serving in leadership and teaching roles at major academic and medical institutions.

- University of Michigan Hospitals (Ann Arbor, MI) – Dermatology Residency
During his career, Dr. Kanzler held several academic and leadership positions. He served for many years at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC) in San Jose, California, including as Chief of Dermatology and Director of Physician Billing, Compliance, and Education. He also held an academic appointment at Stanford University School of Medicine, where he was Clinical Professor in the Department of Dermatology. In addition, he served as the Program Director for the Stanford Dermatology Residency Program.
Dr. Kanzler received numerous honors, including recognition as one of the Best Doctors in America and Best Doctors in the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as Teacher of the Year by Stanford Dermatology residents.
Dr. Kanzler is a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology (ABD) and the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME). He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and has been a member of several professional organizations, including the American Medical Association (AMA), the California Dermatology and Dermatologic Society (CDDS), the Pacific Dermatologic Society (PDS), and the San Francisco Dermatologic Society (SFDS). He has been Assistant Editor of the Journal of American Academy of Dermatology for decades, and has published over 40 medical articles in national journals as well as presenting more than 30 times at regional and national medical meetings.
In his spare time, Dr. Kanzler has been a lifelong competitive swimmer, winning many national titles throughout his long career. He still swims every morning with other die-hard swimmers at Waikiki.
