Dr. Joanne Jacob is a dermatologist with a strong passion for general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of skin conditions, including hair loss, hyperpigmentation, and acne, and is particularly interested in advancing dermatologic knowledge through research and education. Her formal education and training include:

During her training, Dr. Jacob was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society (ΑΩΑ) and received the Ruth M. Laird Hix Scholarship, along with distinction in foundational sciences. She has also earned multiple research and presentation awards, including first place at the Alabama Dermatology Society (ADS) Summer Symposium and the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Dermatology Research Expo.
In addition to clinical dermatology, Dr. Jacob has an extensive background in research, with numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading journals and contributions to national dermatology literature. Her work spans a variety of topics, including atopic dermatitis, cutaneous oncology, adverse drug reactions, and dermatologic education. She has also presented widely at national and international conferences, including the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) annual meeting and the World Congress of Pediatric Dermatology (WCPD).
In her spare time, Dr. Jacob enjoys going to the movies, trying new restaurants, and travelling the world. When not exploring, she spends time with her family, her partner, and their dog Petunia.
