There are many noticeable effects when it comes to the aging process. One that is particularly bothersome is laxity, which contributes to loose, saggy skin on the face, neck, chest, and body. Jowling of the lower face, saggy, crepey skin on the neck and chest, draping of the skin above the elbows and knees, and loose skin on other areas of the body can instantly give away a person’s age.

Luckily, the new Morpheus8 device can help turn back the hands of time and rejuvenate these telltale signs of aging skin. Morpheus8 combines radiofrequency energy, needling, and fractional technology to remodel and tighten skin on the face and body. Morpheus8 simultaneously stimulates collagen deep in the dermis for dramatic results without surgery. It is essentially a non-surgical facelift and body contouring treatment that is minimally invasive but offers incredible results.

How Morpheus8 works

Morpheus8 is FDA-cleared to provide deep, 8mm sub-dermal adipose tissue remodeling. Burst technology targets tissue at three levels, providing a significant reduction in treatment time while delivering exceptional skin, tissue, and collagen remodeling to improve the skin’s appearance on the face and body. It is extremely effective in tightening and improving the appearance of under-eye bags, jowls, loose skin on the neck, abdomen, upper arms, and above the knees.

What to expect during and after treatment

Before your Morpheus8 treatment, you will meet with your provider for a skincare consultation to discuss your concerns and to determine if you are a candidate for the procedure. Notify your provider of any medications you have used within the last six months, and inform your provider if you have a history of cold sores. Avoid excessive sun exposure leading up to your treatment. Your provider may also recommend that you discontinue the application of any irritating skincare products, such as Accutane®, retinoids, exfoliating acids, or chemical peels.

After your treatment, you may experience mild redness and swelling, which are common the first few days following a Morpheus8 procedure. You may also notice some small, pinpoint bleeding, or small scabs. Do not pick at these scabs. Your provider will recommend a post-treatment skincare regimen, including a nourishing moisturizer and sunscreen. Avoid sun exposure and tanning before and after your treatment. Use of a broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunblock with a minimum SPF of 30 is very important after receiving any laser treatment. Remember to reapply every two hours when outside. You may start wearing makeup for 2-3 days after your treatment.
